IMMEDIATE OPENING - ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

Del Oro Water Company is seeking a full-time ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT to oversee Water Treatment Operation & Distribution for the PORTERVILLE, CA service area
 
Experience Required 
 
The ideal candidate must be competent and experienced in:
  • Surface water treatment plant operation and maintenance
  • State and Federal regulations pertaining to water treatment
  • Operating and monitoring SCADA systems
  • Distribution field operations
  • Water meter reading, installation, and maintenance
  • Mainline and hydrant installation and maintenance
  • Repairing leaks in service lines, mainlines, valves, and hydrants
  • Maintaining buildings and grounds
  • Operating a variety of manual and power tools, including light to heavy equipment, performing related work as required
Candidate MUST possess:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years increasingly responsible experience in construction, maintenance, or operations with a public or private water or sewer utility organization
  • Valid California driver's license along with print out of history
  • Valid Water Distribution System Operator Certificate (Grade D-2 or above) at time of application and maintained for duration of employment
  • Valid Water Treatment System Operator Certificate (Grade T-2 or above) at time of application and maintained for duration of employment
Candidate must:
  • Be willing to obtain higher certification
  • Be willing and able to perform heavy, manual labor in ALL weather conditions 
  • Be able to work independently 
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to the Porterville, CA area 
  • Pass a physical and a drug test
  • Be willing and able to work on-call/standby hours, weekends and long hours may be required

The Assistant Superintendent, Water Treatment & Distribution Operator, Field Technician is considered a “first responder” during emergency conditions; candidates must live within thirty (30) minutes travel time of Districts Operations.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Salary/Benefits:
  • This is a full-time position with starting salary range from $59,500 - $64,500, depending on qualifications
  • Signing Bonus, depending on qualifications
  • Health, Dental, Eye Insurance for employee and family (after 60 days), paid by company
  • 7 Holidays, Vacation (1 week after first year) and Sick Leave (accrued at 1/2 day per month)
