Del Oro Water Company is seeking full-time entry-level METER READERS for the BUTTE COUNTY, CA and the HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA service areas
 
The ideal candidate will be competent and experienced in:
  • Water meter reading, installation, and maintenance
  • Leak repairs for service lines, mainlines, valves, and hydrants
  • Maintaining buildings and grounds
  • Operating a variety of manual and power tools,including light to heavy equipment, performing related work as required
Candidate must:
  • Be willing and able to perform heavy, manual labor in ALL weather conditions 
  • Be able to work independently 
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to the Paradise/Magalia, CA area or the Ferndale, CA area, as applicable
  • Pass a physical and a drug test
  • Provide a printout of their California Driver's License history
  • Be willing and able to work on-call/standby hours, weekends and long hours may be required

Water Utility Meter Reader is considered a “first responder” during emergency conditions; candidates must live within fifteen (15) minutes travel time of Districts Operations.

Salary/Benefits: 
  • This is a full-time position with competitive starting salary of $20-$24 per hour ($41,600-$49,920 per year), depending on qualifications

  • 7 Holidays, Vacation (1 week after first year) and Sick Leave (accrued at 1/2 day per month)

  • Mainline and hydrant installation
  • Leak repairs for service lines, mainlines, valves, and hydrants

  • Operating a variety of manual and power tools,including light to heavy equipment, performing related work as required
Candidate MUST be willing to obtain the following within two years:
  • D-2 certification
  • T-2 certification
Candidate must:
  • Be willing and able to perform heavy, manual labor in ALL weather conditions 
  • Be able to work independently
