The Service Charge is a Readiness to Serve Charge which is applicable to all metered water service and to which is added the charge for water used, computed at the Quantity Rates below.

Reimbursement of WQMA Fees
As authorized by the California Public Utilities Commission, all bills are subject to a one-time surcharge of $1.73, to be billed as a one-time charge. This charge offsets expenses billed to the Magalia District resulting from the tracking of Water Quality Memorandum Account (WQMA) expenses resulting from the adoption of National Primary Drinking Water Regulations and not accounted for in the current rates.

Reimbursement of CDPH Fees
As authorized by the California Public Utilities Commission, all bills are subject to a one-time surcharge of $6.04, to be billed at $2.01 over three (3) consecutive billing cycles. This charge offsets expenses billed to the Magalia District resulting from the tracking of California Department of Public Health (CDPH) User Fees not accounted for in the current rates.

Uncollected Revenue Surcharge
Per Advice Letter No. 230, dated July 1, 2009, granting Interim Rate Relief and Resolution No. W-4807, dated November 4, 2009, granting a General Rate Increase, producing under-collected revenues amounting to $6,755.36 from July 1, 2009 through November 10, 2009; the time period between which the Interim Rate Increase and the General Rate Case Increase became effective. The uncollected revenues are imposed in a one-time surcharge of $24.74, to be billed over a period of six (6) billing cycles at $4.12 per month per customer.

State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Surcharge
The monthly SRF surcharge is specifically for the repayment of the State Revolving Fund for the Regional Intertie Project, as authorized by Decision 08-05-032. The monthly rates are subject to adjustment.
California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Reimbursement Surcharge
A 1.5% surcharge is required to be added to all customers bills, which is calculated on all amounts due and is forwarded to the Commission throughout the year.
