Service Charges
The Service Charge is a Readiness to Serve Charge which is applicable to all metered water service and to which is added the charge for water used, computed at the Quantity Rates below.

California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Reimbursement Surcharge

A 1.5% surcharge is required to be added to all customers bills, which is calculated on all amounts due and is forwarded to the Commission throughout the year.

Special Conditions River Island Domestic Annual General Metered Service

  1. A late charge will be imposed per Schedule No. LC.

  2. In accordance with Section 2714 of the Public Utilities Code, if a tenant in a rental unit leaves owing the company, service to subsequent tenants in that unit will, at the company's option, be furnished on the account of the landlord or property owner.

  3. All bills are subject to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Reimbursement Fee set forth in Schedule No. UF.

  4. Per Advice Letter No. 209, dated January 26, 2009, granting an Interim Rate Increase and Resolution No. W-4759, dated June 18, 2009, granting a Genreral Rate Increase, under-collected revenues amounting to$35.261.22 from January 26,2009 through June 26, 2009 are imposed in a one-time surcharge of $96.64 over approximately thirty-six (36) billing cycles at $2.68 per month to each customer's water bill upon approval by the California Public Utilities Commission. If over-collections of funds occurs, a credit will be issued to the customers. (Advice Letter No. 235-B)

  5. Moratorium

    In accordance with Decision No. 10-05-004, no service shall be provided to any premises not previously served within the River Island Service Areas as defined on the Service Area Map filed as part of these tariffs for a period of up to 3 years from May 6, 2010.  PROVIDED THAT: If a subdivider/customer has contributed a well(s) in order to obtain a will serve letter as a requirement of Del Oro Water Company, River Island, to provide service to a particular subdivision, and exception to the service connection moratorium will be granted only for the number of lots within the subdivision for which the current production from said well(s) during rationing is/are capable of supplying.  Data is to be developed from historical records and current production needs.

  6. As authorized by the California Public Utilities Commission, all bills are subject to a one-time Surcharge of $64.80 billed at $3.60 over approximately eighteen (18) billing cycles upon approval by the CPUC of Advice Letter No. 270. This charge offsets  the expenses resulting from the Environmental Protection Agency's adopted National Primary Drinking Water Regulations for water testing for the period January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009.

  7. As authorized by the California Public Utilities Commission, all bills are subject to a one-time Surcharge of $2.76 over approximately eighteen (18) billing cycles upon approval by the CPUC of Advice Letter No. 296. This charge offsets  the expenses resulting from the Environmental Protection Agency's adopted National Primary Drinking Water Regulations for water testing for the period January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010.

California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Reimbursement Surcharge
A 1.5% surcharge is required to be added to all customers bills, which is calculated on all amounts due and is forwarded to the Commission throughout the year.

Special Conditions River Island Irrigation Annual General Metered Service

  1. This service is secondary to domestic service and the utility must be given 24 hours notice before each irrigation. In the event that insufficient water is available for all irrigation users to be served at the same time, rotation of use may be required.

  2. In accordance with Section 2714 of the Public Utilities Code, if a tenant in a rental unit leaves owing the company, service to subsequent tenants in that unit will, at the company's option, be furnished on the account of the landlord or property owner.

  3. Each property owner shall be responsible to install back-flow prevention device on domestic supply per Water Co. requirements.

  4. All bills are subject to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Reimbursement Fee set forth in Schedule No. UF.

  5. A late charge will be imposed per Schedule No. LC.

  6. Per Advice Letter No. 209, dated January 26, 2009, granting an Interim Rate Increase and Resolution No. W-4759, dated June 18, 2009, granting a Genreral Rate Increase, under-collected revenues amounting to$35.261.22 from January 26,2009 through June 26, 2009 are imposed in a one-time surcharge of $134.38 over approximately thirty-six (36) billing cycles at $3.73 per month to each customer's water bill upon approval by the California Public Utilities Commission. If over-collections of funds occurs, a credit will be issued to the customers. (Advice Letter No. 235-B)

  7. Moratorium
