Voluntary Conservation Requested

On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Governor Gavin Newson issued additional drought declarations to bring California to a total of 50 counties under State Emergency Proclamations (in addition those on April 12, 2021 and May 10, 2021). From the July 8, 2021 Executive Order N-10-21 (external link), the governor called on all Californians, ordering the following, in part:

To preserve the State’s surface and groundwater supplies and better prepare for the potential for continued dry conditions next year, and to join existing efforts by agricultural water users, public water systems, and governmental agencies to respond to water shortages, I call on all Californians to voluntarily reduce their water use by 15 percent from their 2020 levels.

Del Oro Water Company (DOWC) hereby requests its customers’ assistance in water conservation efforts. Your cooperation with DOWC’s Rule 14.1 – Water Shortage Contingency Plan will help to lessen the effects of this extremely dry water year, and is necessary to ensure reliable supplies of water for your comfort and necessary use.

All Del Oro Water Company customers are asked to reduce water use by 15% compared to 2020 usage.
