About Us
A Brief History of Del Oro Water Company
Del Oro Water Company was established in 1963 to meet the water needs of the Paradise Pines area in Magalia, California. Since then, we have grown throughout California. We currently provide service to four districts in Butte County; the Paradise Pines District, serving nearly 8,000 customers; the Lime Saddle District near Lake Oroville, serving approximately 450 customers; the Magalia District, serving nearly 100 customers; the Stirling Bluffs District, serving approximately 400 customers in Stirling City; and the Buzztail District, located in Chico, which serves over 40 customers.
The Paradise Pines, Lime Saddle, Magalia, and Buzztail districts served almost 14,000 customers combined before the devastating impact of the Camp Fire in 2018. We look forward to the rebuilding of the greater Paradise area.
We also serve nearly 2,000 customers in the Ferndale District and almost 300 in the Benbow District, both located in Humboldt County; 760 customers in the Johnson Park District in Burney (Shasta County); and 225 customers in the Country Estates District in Bakersfield (Kern County).
In addition, Del Oro Water Company serves over 725 customers in the California Pines District (formerly Pine Mountain and Pine Flat), nearly 300 customers in the Tulare District, over 400 customers in the Traver District, and over 900 customers in the River Island District, all of which are in Tulare County.
We also serve one district in the Colusa County area: the Arbuckle District, with 135 customers. Our Black Butte District, located in Orland, Glenn County, serves over 160 customers.
Near Sonora is Strawberry District (in Tuolumne County), which has almost 1000 customers. Near Fresno, in Fresno County, is the Metropolitan District, serving nearly 100 customers. We have also acquired the Mt. Lassen District, located in Shasta County, which is a developing subdivision.
We also serve approximately 70 customers in the Larkspur Meadows District, located in Red Bluff, Tehama County.
Our most recent acquisition is the Hat Creek District, located in Old Station, Shasta County. This district serves approximately 150 customers.
Del Oro is proud to have served California residents for over 56 years and looks forward to continuing a tradition of excellence for many years to come.
